Something highly unusual for this area this time of year. Won't stick- ground's too warm. Big flakes- coming down with a vengeance. Never seen it this early in the season.

I hear you. I wanted a little change in the weather to get stuff moving, but it went to extremes. 6+ inches of snow and freezing harder than woodpecker lips. Not fun, and not really expected this early.

Nothing like a little snow with it melting and creating slippery slop on farm roads checking traps......

WHEW!
put in some more locations today- we were right on the northern edge of the snow line, and the predictions were from 2-6 depending on where the low was. We had a very dry high pressure over us, and I was hoping that it would keep that line south. just watched the local weather- no snow, no freezing, MAYBE a few sprinkles- then at last a week of dry......
good things DO happen to good people...LOL

We have at least a couple inches here and big flakes coming down now.No clean living going on here in Black Hammer, lol good things to good people lol Physically my body is a little tired and sore after 18 days of hard running.Don't need to be slipping and sliding in the snow all day.But it could ba a heck of a lot worse.

We got 2.5 inches of rain before the 2 inches of wet, heavy snow. My river was up two feet today. I got everything pulled today and got wet too. Glad to have everything out of the water and out of the trails for the next few days. I need to chair a Veterans Day ceremony Friday too so I won't be setting until Saturday if we dry out enough! Rats are doing OK, I am way, way down on coons and no canine trapping yet and probably won't until after our 9 day gun season now.

Just a sniff on the ground here. The white ghost turned to brown ghost when the snow covered the ground.... but man are the snowshoe numbers really up from last year.
Only 160 more days to see bare ground ahead....
