Due to all the larger farm operations my crawlunders I snare are almost non existant. I have snared my tire tracks with 5.64 amberg with some success. What are you guys using for diameter locks etc. I want my coyotes dead if their alive in the morn every tom dick and harry has them shot full of holes before I get there. I'm sure this has been coverd already but I. Didn't see much in the archives I'm just lookin to get a little discussion goin........ 1.16 cable anyone?

go to filed cam locks and stinger choke springs stick with the 5/64th's in 1x19 style and give them some cable to run and you should find more laid out coyotes this year.

My coyote snare of choice for open trail snaring is 1/16 1x19 cable. You use a BIG loop and i dont see where i get any refusals from coyotes. Just dead coyotes. I run atleast a 10 ft snare or add extensions to get to that length or a little longer. I use a filed camlock.

Tc I got 5 or 6 dozen of the ambergs left do they still work well when filed ived never messed around with anything like that??? Most of my extentions I anchor with are 5 feet or so ill have to try and double that. I am gonna need to order some snares this year and been really mullin over trying 1.16 I do see a few refusals with the biggger stuff cause here in iowa if not near a waterway we are restricted loop wise which I think is dumb

you don't have near the surface area on a filed amberg as you do a filed cam, just the way it is. 5/64ths works well just keep the lock and spring out og normal line of site and you can snare coyotes with 5/64ths with little refuals in many locations, the "key" is to blend them in as best as you can. Heck I worry more about the support than I do the snare itself in more open areas.

A much better way to use a kill spring. Don't mistake the kill spring for the choke spring. Two very different springs. This is the best way to consistently make coyotes dead fast with 1/16" in all environments. The trigger is a brand new product by... Me!!! Mr, Gappa carries these things. You need a setting tool as well.

They are very new, Steve probably didn`t have time to get to it yet.
Meanwhile, in the wide open, a plain Stinger snare, no trigger, is a very high percentage kill device, especially when 1/16 is used.
