3 months of no rain has changed the rat out-look, to none in the farm areas. Beans all done last week, corn just started. Have not seen a duck fly by yet..... Beaver are priming up nice.....no comments on prices. If it was not for the bounty. Who can think of trapping in 90 degree f weather... was 31c yesterday. All time October high.

Just got back from a week of scouting. I'm so far behind I'll never be ready. This year I'll give up trapping those greasy early coon. Probably start working coon some time in late Nov. Got bigger fish to fry this year.
Killed some gray maggots and some ducks, caught a ton of big parch. Some were over 13" also caught some dandy eyes. Life Is good.

everything except packing truck is ready to go-
1st... Are you still going with the 5 lines ? Rotating out of one each week as the season progresses.5wks of coyote trapping will result in 5 different lines having been set.
Is this correct ?
that yota, is indeed correct.
2nd. How many traps,"Per Line" are you intending to run ? I vaguely remember your # from last year, and am curious to know if you intend to Increase that # this year?
yes, that number will be increased in two ways. first off all more locations have been added to each loop, and many locations will have added traps. Before last year, we were running, different management, 100 plus a few most of the season. Last year, less traps, more coyotes. So about 100 plus or minus. and will be adding more coon sets this year- so simple to set a dp with a liquid lure and so effective I can't afford not to-
3rd. Are you adding New sets "Each" day,and if not,on what day in that 7 day stretch are you adding "New" sets?
set up is thurs- will add new sets friday & sat- will add a few new on monday, then pull everything weds.
Roughly, how many New sets are you trying to add,on the days your puting new ones out?
10 seems to be a good number
4th. I would like to know the "Air Miles",not odometer, from your house to the end of line 1 thru 5 if you would ??
from one end to the other as the crow flies, about 100 miles in width. covering all of 2 counties, and parts of 3 others. depth is about 40 on average. my house sits on the mississippi edge, about in the middle, so we go out 50-60 miles on one side, about the same on the other, and within that area, go out a maximum of 40-50 miles,
Also.....Air miles between the end of line 1 to the start of line 2,end of 2 to the start of 3,and so on thru 5. If they all touch at the end of each, just say so.If Not.The distances Please.
they all touch at the sides. Remember my lines can only be a 180 degree line because of the Mississippi. look at like the top petals of a flower. each petal, is more or less equal in size, with the more hilly loops being smaller than the flatter areas. Each loop is between 150-175 miles

It'd be interesting to see what Andy and 1080's answers would be to the same questions.
