My friend has moles in her yard the dog has been digging holes trying to get them, she wants them gone. What would be the easiest way? Smoke bombs, traps, or poison? I only have Quick Set Gopher traps ,Death Klutch,or 0 long springs. Should I buy mole traps, if so what kind?

I like the victor spear types....mainly because that's all I/ve used. I bought some new cool looking scissor style traps (for sand) but haven't had a chance to use them. The spear type doesn't work well in sandy soil, however as when the trap fires and the spears go downward, the sand lets go of anchors of the trap and allows the trap to pick up when it needs to be locked down into the soil. Works good for dirt applications where lawns are usually at, however.
Find runs (pushed upwards in the grass) and stab the trap into the ground in the way covering the run. Work the spikes up and down a few times to make sure they/ll penetrate the soil. Now depress a SMALL area down flat, just big enough for the pan to set on over the tunnel/run and push the set trap down so the pan just touches the depression you just made directly over the run. When the mole comes through he/ll have to re-open the depression you made under the trap pan. When he nudges the tunnel open it will lift the trap pan, thus firing the trap.
When you get to a fired trap, you need to dig down around the spikes to make sure you got him. If you just lift the trap, he/ll just unscewer himself and stay in the tunnel and you may think you missed him.

Choose the the straightest tunnel you find. These are the travel tunnels. There may be lots of feeders, but you are looking for the travel way.
