I have plenty of other size traps but no 1.75,s. I am thinking about getting off-sets but never had any. I know they are good for canines but are they okay for coon?

Just my opinion, but If the law doesn't dictate their use the there Is no need for them. While the 1.75 Isn't the perfect trap It will do the job on fox coyotes rats mink and coon. And you don't need a offset jawed trap.

Imo, the offset jaw is a poor design for water coon. Stay with regular jaws for coon.

I agree with the above.
on water, I do like the 1.75 for coon- it gives you a little advantage IMO over a 1.5 in water for coon. I wouldn't go out and buy 1.75s strickly for that purpose- because for me, experience has shown me I'm better off with a 1.5 for mixed water (mink/rats/coon type sets) trapping, but on water coon specific sets, I've bene using nothing but 1.75 for several years.
you do not want the offsets for coon- offsets and smaller coon traps = lost coon.

If you are going after coon stay away from offsets if you can. If you must, go for an offset of 3/16" or less. My experience is at 1/4" even Jumbo coon pull out regularly.
