I received my coon daggers today and they are a well built trap. They should work well in the areas I plan to set them. I like the fact you can preset them before one goes a field.

Pretty slick trap... American made and authentic... somehow I got out of Columbia without a dozen. Carlis needs to work on his sales technique... we spent so much time yacking about traps, tooling and fabrication I forgot to get my wallet out. I'll catch up with him by fall.

I picked up a 3 dozen in Columbia. I like the thought of a push/pull trigger. I'll be using them side by side with my Lil Griz's this season to test if they are that much better at producing coon.
The only thing that makes me nervous about them is the fact that I am so clumsy. If you fell on the staking mechanism of a dagger, I'm afraid it would be bringing guts out with it when it's pulled out. They have a wicked looling "stake" on them.
I have a friend that is changing all his DP's over to Daggers, so he is really sold on them. I hope they are that good for me. Although, I don't know that I'd ever get rid of my Griz's. With the price reductions of these traps lately, I couldn't even come close to recouping the money I have in them.

Turtle, you must have caught some coon in your Grizs already! So subtract some of that from your orig price. If you made more fm fur caught in your Grizs than you paid, they dont owe you ...

I've caught more then enough coon to pay for the 12 dozen Griz's I own. It's just the principle of it.Hahahaha If the push/pull triggers work as good as advertised, I'll just rework my Griz's and make them push/pull with some pliers and a dremel tool.

You could rework the triggers like some have been posting how toos about, but thats only half the battle! you still got a straight trigger and dont prevent all bait theft when using ground type baits which makes up 90% of the commercial type baits on the market. I was doing that mod on the grizzes way before I thought of building a trap. I also try to have an Griz at Wisconsin and show another mod you can do to it that will save you some time on the line.
