Prbably two dollar dps. lol At the mta Duke one and half coils were as cheap as 42 dollar a dozen for a little while at one dealer.Everyone 48 or less.220 conibears 75 a dozen. It's hard to sell good used traps with new ones that cheap.I dealer remarked the price on his duke boxes had been scratched off and changed three times all going down. The dealers can't like it cause they really don't have a great profit margin.Great for the trapper who likes dukes.

You find the same thing in any trap- there is pretty much zero profit in new traps for a dealer.

In the early 80's, during the boom, as a high school kid I didn't have a lot of money.
With no coyotes around, my trap of choice was the 1.5 coil.
Victors and Monties were pretty much the choices.....
I think Victors were $36 per doz and Montys were around $39-$40. per dozen.
I thought the Monties were too strong, which is sorta ironic with the traps I use today. Too strong and too pricey, so I bought the Victors!
Man, had I bought the 1.5 Monties......woulda been a pretty good investment based on what they go for now.
The point? I find it amazing that Bill can sell traps at prices similiar to those from 30 years ago.........and I dont mean that as a slam, but rather, as a point of interest........
Not meant to be a trap quality or comparison post, i.e., Monties vs. Dukes.....just comparing prices, now vs. then. Everything has gone up exponentially since that time......
Was reading Krause's Fox book this weekend in my "library"......he was talking Trapline Economics....he said "Well, one extra fox fills my gas tank five times."
Even at $30 coyotes, I need three coyotes to fill my tank only once!

With free shipping for you guys in the Midwest or East, $3/doz. shipping to the West Coast. I found a little stack of receipts from stuff I ordered back in the late 70's through the 80's along with fur buyer receipts. #1.5 Northwoods were $28.doz, #2 Montgomery RJ's were $42/doz when they came out, #3 Montgomery Dogless were $48/doz. What was really sad was the stack of receipts for gasoline from 84'. Of course back then $1.06/gal. was highway robbery and we were outraged !!!
