Are they worth the money?

Are they worth the money? Maybe for you but not for me. Neither knife fit my hand whatsoever and you'd better figure on buying an appropriate sharpening system which I didn't do. I've since sold both knives! In addition, on both of the knives, a small piece of handle quickly chipped out with the grain, right in front of the thumb and forefinger groove. Since it was "with the grain" it could also have been inherent to Rosewood as well.

pretty unimpressed here, whole lot better knives, out there cheaper, and they sharpen better.

I own three different Dunn's and like each one. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. Also own a havalon knife for detail work skinning ears, eyes and splitting the lips on wolves. Jim

I guess I 'm not into the beauty thing, just a knife that stays sharp as advertised. A 6.00 serrated pelter stays sharper a lot longer than a Dunn. Just my experience with both.

I"ve never owned a Dunn but I do have a $6 pelter. It's junk. Use it for separating the lower jaw bone on my cats. My favorite ones are some I've made. I've got some home made ones that turned out to be junk too.

Whatever works for you. I used one serrated pelter that lasted all season last yr. skinned over 600 animals with it. Only need to run it over the steel a couple times after each animal. my .02

just an ordinary chicago cutlery steel. use it like you would any other knife. My dad and my grandpa did butchering, so I learned early how to use a good steel. LOL
