Steve and lori thanks for being so prompt on getting your coyote trapping video in the mail. It arrived today and with the wife at work tonight the phone came off the hook and the cap off the beer and we watched it from start to finish. I say we because as the first coyote started barking my lab came in sat down and had her eyes fixed on that coyote. Same thing happened when the next coyote went into a bark. Being a coyote addict myself i'm always looking for an edge or answers to problems I may be having or encountered. One thing sure i'm re thinking my skimpy use of urin at each set. Plus my use of lure and a change with my peat moss usage to name a few. Congratulations to you both on this excellent video.

Well I just got the new Blue Ray player hooked up and gave it a test by playing Steve and Lori's video for the first time. IMHO, this to me was a very enjoyable video to watch. I'd say the reason I enjoyed it was that nothing seemed staged or contrived, it was as if the viewer is riding along with Steve and Lori and having an ongoing conversation about sets, locations, and topography. At no time did I ever get the feeling I was listening to "he who said it to the greatest magnitude" which in itself was very refreshing not having someone trying to stick something down my throat or up I disagree!! There was one point-of-time though, where Steve was on his knees and I winced at the perceived struggle. I won't miss a chance now to nag him to change that part of his process. Poor old fart anyway!! Brought tears to my eyes! Congratulations Steve and Lori on this video and hopefully you'll follow the same format and come out with a mink video.

Steve wont be struggling as much with the mink video as the water helps support him....providing he doesnt do a header from a slippery rock!!! Of course then he could explain the bottom edge set while under water..... Steve put my name on one of yr yote vids and of course i will take first one of your MINK!

If there is a mink video, maybe BK and I need to sort of follow along and pull Steve out of those snow drifts and provide his cheering section as well as any bottom edge mentoring he might need!

heres one variation-
look to where the currecnt pushes against the bank, at small bends below rapids. if in doubt, toss in a stick or two, see where the "eddy" is. many times, you can tell because there will already be a spot there, a slight shelve or indentation. If so, expand it. If not, make one. Usually a spot can be enlarged or made, simply with the side of your hand.
all you are doing, is using or making a spot, where anything coming through the rapids, would naturally go. Give them a spot to "rest", and they will.
