Da plane when one has large areas is a very efficant tool it was all about loss mitigation with large districts, but the dirty work was done with other tools, heck Da Plane nothing dirty about it locate and give a referance point and end of problem. Da Plane is only as good as the pilot, gunner and ground crew ALL doing their part. Calling, traps and snares all had their place outside of Da Plane.
As far as seeing for miles well in the winter it was boring nothing but 30 miles of solid white . Boring to me.

I forgot that you were one of those Iowans who grew up and lived in the forested areas of NE IA, Right?
Heck, I can't wait for the corn to get cut in the fall, so I can see!

Yep Nick that is the area I grew up in years back.
For a time the buttes and rolling hills and large areas of open country where nice but 6 months of winter and extreme cold and access, well over the years things have taken a toll.
Heck, I can't wait for the corn to get cut in the fall, so I can see!
Yep another of those things that get taken for granted! Will be nice to see combines out again and see the changing landscape fresh picked corn and bean fields. Leaves changing color and all the rest. The signs of the fall for many people no doubt.

Nick pre locate your coyotes and you don';t need to see very far.........................
I plan on calling as soon as I get my MO residency which is 30 days going to see if it as as hard down that way as some claim. Should be fun. Won't be cold calling many though will pre locate and then try and see what happens. My new savage .243 has done well in the west and the 3x9 I have on it should be fine and dandy for the close action down that way, also the shotgun will be more than just a summer gun as well.

good luck TC- I understand why you are moving, but feel you will miss the west terribly- I love where I live, but my next choice would be in sage country. PS- I heard the new guy isn't starting til sept 1st, to give all those coyotes you spooked a chance to settle down...........
