Well guys I'm moving, all by our own accord! Me and my family are making a move to MO. My wife took a job as school principal and will be good for our kids and all of us.
Need a change from the harsh winters and looking for new life adventures. I surely will be doing some trapping and getting back to hard woods country will be good for the soul!
I have some reservations of leaving some good friends and some great co workers but time to move on I'm not getting any younger and have new plans and many do involve trapping hoping to get to the NTA in Columbia but the move is going to happen in 4 weeks!!!! Alot to do in a short time frame!

TC, remember to substitute all of your vowel sounds with an 'a' when speaking, except for 'y' of course, which is often added. Example: "Y'all want ass cram ?", which is Missourian for "Would anyone like ice cream ?"

salt of the earth people for the most part another reason to move there. Not like cali where they say "like this and like that" LOL. Little in the way of phony people trying to live the the "jones" there. I will be East of Kansas City a little ways. When I have more time I will go into further detail. Marty hoping to get over to Columbia at least for a day drop me a line as to where your booth will be. Some say the humidty is unreal around there LOL. I grew up with that in NE Iowa along the big river, I tell them the winters will be far better, I have found I can cool down much easier than warm up and central air is cheaper than a propane furnace for 6 months for sure

steve 49'r don't plan on being inside but might have to be for a little while, but I can cool off easier in the heat than warm up in -10 to -25 below for sure.
My wife had a call from a school board member and she said let her know what day we will be in town and she will have people there to help unload our trucks. Not even a hint of asking for help, she offered that up. I call that good people.

This part of the state has strict building codes and burning laws.

I will be looking forward to the fall color of hardwood leaves again, morel mushroom hunting, catfishing with my kids and living back in the rolling hills with decidous trees abounding.
Did I mention far less snow and wind LOL.
We researched a few states in the midwest before my wife started to apply for jobs and MO has a good track record for taxes and opportunities. Vehicle registration not as bad as others as well.
Income to cost of living is pretty good as well.

TC39, I'm heading to KC in the morning to pick up my daughters furniture. She's moving back to the cold, to get away from the city and the heat. LOL Good luck with your move. Change of scenery does a guy good once in awhile.

well been packing and job searching have a few leads, and have house rented. Plan is to be on the road July 23rd early am. I'm also going to be only 1.5 hrs from Columbia so hoping to make the NTA national 1 day as well.
Rally I wouldn't want to live in KC either but it is there to enjoy and we can go back to our small town living in short order.
Liberty is a very nice town/suburb of KC.
MO retirement system for schools is far different than most, very high % on both ends payroll and match. That was something I didn't know until recently.
