Mike, alot of new mudmotors out there these days, seem to be a lot of small 2-6 hp range in Florida. also a 6.5 HP surface drive which might be the small mudmotor to end all mudmotors. go to North Florida Mud Motors, they sell about 8 different brands-Mudduaber, Prodrive, Orion, Copperhead, and Utah Marsh motors, look em over, lots of choices.
I knew youd be the "man" to ask about a V-boat, LOL. I had my suspictions as ran a boat or 3 in my day. But now I know what i need to buy this summer from someone whos been there and done it.
Scott W, you better buy that motor fast before someone finds out about it. They go for $800 as rare as hens teeth to duck hunters. Must be something to them if duckhunters willing to shell out that kinda money on a 20 year old motor.
I almost wonder in right places the BEST boat would be NO BOAT. Say small marshes 100 yards to 1/4 mile off road, private ground, no fed or state restrictions. Plenty permision as no one askes if it aint close to road. Drop ramp on trailer, DRIVE, not drag the 900 c.c. ATV with tracks on it, thru the ditch, field road, mudholes or whatever, drive straight into marsh right beside every shallow hut in 1 ft water or so, set only what you can drive within 10 feet of, forget rest, drive back up on ramp, and on the the next one couple miles down the road----and do it all day long. 10 second load and unload, no boat cranks, winches ,lifting canoes on-off racks and strapping down, lifting motors on-off boat. Just hit the thumb on the gas and go! Sell every boat and snowmobile on the place a week later, bust every paddle in half so it fits in dumster, along with pushpoles, premix jugs, leaky gas can, 12 pacs of 2 cycle spark plugs, might as well heave the 5 gallon bucket of tangled up bungees and straps needed to hold it all down while your at it. Wait, drive back and in corner of garage, grab that aluminun snowmobile holddown thing-a-mijee, and dump it it too, and never worry about getting your ass chewed for bending one ever again! LOL.
Think of the drive bys you could have on the poor schmuck standing in the slop trying to heave ho his rowboat on back of truck. Same thing with guy sitting with his stuck snowmobile in cloud of smoke from the belt he just burned up... Put on the $100 shades and cowbow hat and crank the tunes on the hundred watter w/ 15" subs....
