I have a dozen of these with the stock tin foil dog on them, is there a HD replacement dog made for them out there somewhere?

If you've got a welder 17 just buy a short piece of 1/8"x1/4" flat stock and overlay the dogs. Four little tacks on each dog and in a few minutes you're done.

I beefed up a few that way and still had some twisting of the dog eye, the dang things are just so soft. Looking for bullet proof.

How about putting a small tack to the dog eye and dog shank. I'd think that's what is allowing the twisting to happen but if you make the dog one complete unit, the twisting issue would go away.

I am a little confused, are you using these for beaver or lion?
Never had a problem with the stock dog for beaver, however I can see the need for a more substantial dog for lion.

I dont know what to tell you other than 7 of 12 seems to bend with every catch, and gets a little weaker each time.

Man that is weird, PIT is making a round dog, like on that MB 550, this thing seems very stought, maybe PIT has a dog to fit that, you might want to contact F and T or Sterling.
Maybe call bridger maybe bad steel on one batch.

Kind of off the subject but I bought 6 MB550 to try out this year on coyotes. One thing I really liked was the the round dog set up and thought it would up hold up better than my bridgers. After my second catch in them I had a dog bent just as bad as the bridgers. The only difference in the two was it took twice as long to get the MB dog back straight.
