Not sure if that is the correct name, but if you use them, you'll know what i mean LOL
So- has anyone here used them? I picked up a couple in past years, just cause they are neat and different, but have never used them.
The concept seems sound, and I meant to try them this past season, but never got around to it-
Anyone on how they work, how they don't work, tips etc?

anyone that ever set a trap next to a water tank or next to well used sheep trails in arid sheep country can appreciate their value. probably where griz and the rest got the idea for the dogproof type coon traps. the lambsaver was made at least 20-25 years ago by a guy in the dakotas. I think production was short lived.

I think production was short lived. The Grizz Trap is of my own design. I was working on my prototype DP trap when the Lambsaver trap came out.....roughly in the late 90's. I bought a couple of the Lambsaver traps to see if there would be applications for coon trapping.....didn't like what I saw and I continued on with the Grizz Trap concept. The Lambsaver trap would work for coon with modifications to the design. Gary

Better off setting the approaches to and from the sheep pasture than in it. We do have some large sheep pastures out here and I have caught some coyotes inside of them, but you can have 1 trap in 1,000 acres and still end up catching a sheep.

my understanding is lambsaver came out earlier than late 90's, did I read your post wrong?

I bought some quite a bit earlier. I sold them as collectors to bill kasten about 5 years ago. I found other ways to trap in with the sheep, and not catch sheep .

slimshady how do you set in MN sheep pastures and avoid the sheep if you don't mind sharing?

my question really had nothing to do with sheep per se- more on the effectiveness of the trap.
