I would like to try the sled dog thing someday just to see what it is like . Lot slower pace than a snowmobile can enjoy the scenery. Jason

remind me to tell you some of the stories from people I knew in up in the arrowhead, taking their teams to town Friday night- some of the rides home- were adventourous.... like the one where a moose crossed in front, headed down the trial- he said he hung on until the sled tipped, then was hanging on why he was being dragged- until common sense occurred and he let go----- said untangling the team, half lit, freezing cold- good times! musher.........can you relate?..........

I can. I've been dragged many a time. I don't let go. I stop them. sometimes the language can be quite colourful.
Them morning we were on a run and a lynx popped out on the trail. I was able to stop them and the lynx took off. We made good time for a few clicks after that!
That's one of the reasons why i like 8 dogs or less on a team. 500 pounds of dog is manageable.
