Anybody had any experience with them?Just got mine in the mail yesterday and really like it, so far.Batteries in the remote are supposed to be good for 3 years , which I seemed to have always be changing mine in the old one due to cold. The remote is fairly simple to operate , no more # o4 or whatever other number you wanted to play. 10 favorites setting.Larger keypads which always had me fumbling in the dark. Think I pretty much like it. definitely a bit louder then the previous model I had. So whats the skinny? Issues I need to worry about? Like the fact that there is only one switch to have to mess with now and no more plugging this and that in also. Hopefully has the same range or better on the remote capacities.

I've had the new model for about a year and I am pleased with it. This is not a problem but after you push a button wait for the red light to go out before you push the next button so say you want to play sound 21. Push 2 then wait for the red light to go out before pushing 1. If you don't it will play sound 2. I use mine daily and have had no problems with it. Even killed a couple of coyotes with it. I don't use the remote much as I hunt with dogs every day but when I have used it, it worked just fine. When I got my first wt which was I guess close to 10 years ago I tested the remote. It worked out to 1/2 a mile and I stopped at that distance. I had to have another person stand by the caller as I was too far from it to hear if the remote was working or not. I don't know if the new one has that kind of range or not as I have not tested it or used the remote very much.

Taking the time to try and learn any quirks on this one before using it in the field and learning the hard way. Was gettin ready to call and tell them that the sound list #s were not right when I reread the opertaing sheet and seen that about the red light. Thought it was all messed up. Really not a bad idea though once used to it.

I purchased one in OCT, killed 24 yotes and a bunch of crows since January, too many traps to run before January to call. I have 60 sounds, I can make the fields sound very interesting ;D. I took 2 guys with me last weekend and located 2 groups in 4 stops and shot 3 in 2 locations we located. after locating, I like the blue jay sound for starters in the morning then 2 howls and a ground hog distress or mink distress. Both guys were very impressed by both the sounds and volume because they trap coyotes as well, only a coyote trapper that has found yotes in there traps and heard them howl and bark at you knows the real sound and this caller is as close as they come from the ones i have used and heard. I taped my list after i shrunk it down and laminated it on the backside of my remote and has worked ok, but i may velcro the list to the front of my thigh on my camo's as this way i do not have to flip the remote over so much. I am very happy with my WT caller. The only thing i have found if you have something between you and the caller sometimes the sounds will not change, tall grass, trees, etc, but if clear i have went up to 300yds and has worked fine. I had one female run in when way out like that and stick her head right into the calling unit, thats to close for me as i do not want to shoot the calling unit so i have found about 100yds is good if hunting with a rifle during morning evening hours, i do not hunt after dark.Goodluck

I still don't like the idea of being married to Bill M for sound needs! At 33.00 per sound! I would rather have a unit where I can control what sounds I have ,want or need at my disposal and minimum investment.

Well, the way i look at it really you only need so many sounds. Any more than 60, if you can't call them in with that, best to stay at home. Probably 30 would be more like it, but i got crow and some big game sounds. When i got my caller in Oct i took it to deer hunt camp and went coyote hunting with it one evening. Played Deer fawn distress and 2 of my buddys in tree stands deer hunting shot deer as they came to find the deer sound i was playing to call coyotes ;D.I will agree it would be nice to be able to change them sounds on my card, but i would give up that option to be able to play 2 sounds at one time with the volume i have.

Thats why I have a minaska Big Country, I'm in control of the sounds and get lifetime free sounds as they come out with new ones a simple download and it is mine free of charge. I don't think there is a big volume differance between the big country and the WT, not enough for me to worry about it. The big country came with 100 sounds on a removable card. I also have another card with many other sounds I have gotten from downloads, and others as well.
Thats the great thing many options to choose from in the digital calling world.

I sure wouldnt mind hearing one of these minaskas. They sound like they have some good features , but look like what iwas trying to get away from, a bunch of switches and stuff to mess with when nighttime calling.

Freak, you have 1 switch for on/off and 2 toggles for the speakers you can run1 at a time or both, that's it for switches and you are 3 button pushes away on the remote to all 100 sounds 10 banks of 10 sounds. you power up the unti and remote and your calling.

Edge , am doing $25,000 a week right now or would be leaving on a jetplane .Long year to catch up on with the finances. Wifey poo talked me into yet another kid to move in on June 1.So need to build another bedroom also. Next fall for sure , at the moment you would get POd waiting for me with my weakass shuffle I am still doing. On a side note the doc gave me a full release today unless I bust it back up.Said at the rate I am going expects no limp and 95% by June , then said maybe have to remove hardware if I cant get the rest of ankle range of motion back. You should see me climbing up slopes , it is funny , sort of a hop , drag thing. LMAOHow much is this caller with all the bells and whistles?Battery life? Talk to me

I think the big country is 599.00 now. The battery is a 12 volt lead acid and last along time. Very compact and all fits inside a heavy duty pelican case. You can purchase others for less than 15.00 per battery. I can call with the 10 w TOA for a full day and then some, and with both speakers fully charged the same but then it needs a charge for sure.
The remote will get you a couple hundred yards if needed and glows in the dark as well.
25,000 a week!! I wouldn't know what to do with that kind of money.

JRB I know your in the Bill Martz fan club and that is great, it has nothing to do with being cheap or a scate LOL. I had the older model full of problems and I mean full still doesn't work right to this day! I can give you other accounts of the same.
I have seen the new units and I have heard it, that is a fact. Why do they now come with NIMH batterys and not lithium like the first models of the new and improved?
I have a guess? They heat up really fast with using that battery type and users where not getting the cycles with them at a much higher cost correct?
Why would they ship out units that where incomplete?
Why not a 5 year warranty instead of 2? If it is the best state of the art?
You see I use my caller much more than a few weekends out of the year and I had experianced issues at very inoportune times. Again fact NO BS.
I ask for a unit that can perform the same time and time again with issues at a very, very low rate. There are many to choose from on the Market, WT are 1 option, Fox Pro is another and the Minaska is a very welcomed 3rd.
Why hasn't WT caught on and allow you the freedom to have a removable or recordable memory? Most all others offer this feature? He could still charge the 33 per sound correct? I'm betting that the sound orders would drop off correct?
If you like your WT great, so does the man I know that has his, I just have had bad luck with my older WT to even think about trying another. I also don't like Mr Martz and his attitude toward his customer base.
That is why Amnwerica is a great country freedom of choice, and I choose to back a product that has prooven itself to me to be very worry free and offer great advantages Like lifetime free sounds, 5 year warranty, excellent customer service and the ability to add or remove sounds at will.
You like your unit and I like mine, do you have a problem with compairing them? I'm not paid to offer up anything on any caller, I like to blow the horns of those that offer a great product backed by great customer service.
Good luck with the WT, JRB and Freak. I'll stick with my Big Country and the new offerings that Minaska will be unvailing in the future.

I don't know you from Adam there mister coyote37. Unfortunately I don't get to visit this site very often... so it's hard to put a finger on who is who. From the number of private messages I've recieved in the last few days- it appears you are very well known around here.
I just happen to be the one to call you out on your pointless, baseless and agenda driven comments more than anyone else. Others are thinking the same thing; they're just too polite to say it. To hold your position you must know quite a bit about coyotes, Ecallers and predator calling in general... you've just done a really good job of hiding it here.

Jr, I know you are gung ho on WT, and I don't really care, one way or the other. I didn't read what was deleted.
We've met and I like you; in fact, I hope to see you at the next Huntmasters campout. I try to keep my opinions about products relatively bland, if possible, but I am not offering advice for anybody else? I would like to point out that nobody pays me to endorse anything.
All of the above actually has nothing to do with what is on my mind, this afternoon. My personal opinion: I really don't like private messaging on a message board, or member ratings, and they will never be allowed on Huntmasters. What others do, is their business, but I assume opinions are tolerated on this board, your opinion, my opinion, and so forth.
Good hunting. LB
That's it.
