any experience with .224 short mags

had a 22-250 , customized it into a .308, too heavy to pack around. bought a model 7, .223 but not the same as the ol' 22-250. Thinking about getting a new 22-250, but wanted to hear opinions on the .224 short magnums first. I don't know anyone who has one, or who has shot one.

Are they the same as 22-250 so why mess with something new? Or do they outperform the 250 and are worth trying?

With USRAC not building rifles anymore the WSM's and WSSM's are gonna get kinda pricey as far as brass or loaded ammo goes, just like they are already.

And for what, maybe a 5% gain in velocity over a 22-250 that's probably not a good idea for a non exiting fur load anyways.
