A buddy of mine (game warden no less) brought me a mink today. Don't know how he came about it - he just left it on my truck. I know nothing about mink. Question is about fur handling. Do I skin it like a coyote. Dry fur side in and turn or not? It looks good to me - no blemishes I can see, good fur, no damage. It does have a white patch of fur under it's lower jaw. Also I don't have any mink stretchers as I don't trap them. Any suggestions on how to dry it.? Thanks in advance

Yep. Skin it cased just like a coyote. Be careful arount the butt as if you cut or squeeze the glands, your wife will kill you! If you don't have a stretcher you should just rolll it up well (fur side out) and freeze it.

To me, it smells good, I like to cut into the sacs just to get the smell throughout the fur shed.
