Here are some pictures of my dogs after a coyote hunt a couple of winters ago. And NO the coyote is not alive in the pictures, he is very much dead. My JRTs are just making sure of it. LOL Good hunting. Q,

Next time I come up there, we've got to take them out so I can see them work. You gotta love those little terriers. Our 6 month old rat terrier has become very proficient at taking down houseflies. LOL How much harder can a coyote be?

Nice looking dogs. What's the shoulder height and weight of them?

My female (the smooth coat) is 13.5 at the shoulder and 15lbs. My male is 13 at the shoulder and 16lbs. Their working weights will very a pound either way depending on the season.
The title of the thread is somewhat misleading. I don’t recommend JRTs for decoy dogs in summer or winter. In the winter they run most of the coyotes off and in the summer for ADC work they would likely get themselves hurt or killed doing decoy type work. For coyotes trailing up cripples or locating dead coyotes that made it too deeply into cover is the best way to employ them.
I use the dogs in one way or another for nearly everything I hunt. Coons, coyotes, rabbits and doves are what they do best. They have retrieved hundreds upon hundreds of doves for me and if there is a rabbit in a brush or bale pile they will keep working until it bolts or they catch it. Terriers are independent little shits but they hunt hard and are very versatile. I would be lost with out them.
Good hunting

Ya, Hannibal would die very bravely. LOL He is doing well. Come September I’ll start working him a little to get him in shape for November. The coons are going to catch hell this fur season. We have a bumper crop this year. They are squished all over the roads.
I haven’t done Africa yet this year but I think I may make the trip in Feb. or March. Give me a jingle some evening and we can catch up.
Good hunting.

I will give them JR's something, and that is they seem to have a lot of personality.

Must be a terrier thing. My wife wouldn't let me get a JR for in the house, but she was okay with a rat terrier. Some days, I think that li'l SOB is smarter than me.
