Are we testing conibears here?
You like the Canadian bmps?
OK- the foothold is BANNED for coon use in Canada based on their bmps.
And sure as God made little green apples- its coming to us- and these coon bmps just shortened the time frame.
As foxtail points out- the bmp "committee" has already lied on several important points- why would they not continue this practice in the future. After all- saving trapping isn't the goal- no matter how much sugar some put on it- ELIMINATING trapping is the goal.
Tell me this TC35- would you endorse BMP proposals for calling, deer hunting, etc? After all, as you pointed out- bmps are a way of life in everything- business, ranching, farmering......
Start it out- give me your proposals for deer hunting bmps.... Reduce the number of coon trappers and who gives a ____ any more. Whos left to fight?
You? You are part of the problem with your blind defense of bogus procedures.
You won't endorse the snare bmps- but presist in buying the coon ones.
And wonder why- cause you snare and don't trap coon.?
Yes- without a doubt this must be your reasoning.

First you said and I quote ALL the bmps were DESIGNED for LIVE capture.
Death, as I am sure you know- is the ultimate negative score. Not in dealing with conibears, that is fact. Canada from what I know has done ALL Conibear and the US is trying to get there numbers for the instant kill traps. Where did I say I liked Canada bmps, I stated what has happened with those test concerning instant kill traps is all. Next on this issue, Canada has there ideals and thoughts , some far different than the US. They can use power ram snares, I don' think there is 1 state that allows there use, in the US. Different rules and regs for different areas, it has always been that way! I also beleive they only had 1 trap passed for coyotes? Correct me if wrong but I think the double laminated #3 Bridger, where we have many more choices for coyote trapping here in the US. So are you telling me that by the 1.5 reg jaw not passing, that is going to have a direct impact on coon trapping in the US? Tell me why and how? Because no one has made them illegal! Excpet those states that have no trapping period! The other topics and BMP issues, I don't know if they would ever take place or not, many, many dollars to fund such an endevour, I don't see it happing. Tell me why the bmps for trapping took place? tell me why the NTA and every state agency decided to back this? Was it to outlaw trapping yes or no? Did all game agencys go into this with a blind eye, even those that count on trappers to help keep predator populations under control? They risk loosing trapping? My feeling is and always will be to protect the right to trap, and to give the data and education to those who could outlaw trapping, in your state or mine or foxtails. Look at what alot of nay sayers said before the coyote/fox bmp, the only trap that will pass is the rubber jawed models where screwed, we got sold out! Look what happened, not only did many other traps besides the rubber jaw pass this test, some where proven to have better scores than the rubber jaw traps! Why didn't the vet council, squash that deal and with there all in powering fist, strike down all traps besides the rubber jaws? Because the data proved otherwise and they couldn't go against the science! End of the line on this for me. Good Day

MN can use Rams- and I am sure there are other states. ________________________________________
coon bmps = Bogus.
bad methods, bad thresholds, complete lack of understanding of coon, test designed ot fai ltraps, most popular not even tested (I love the "didn't pass visual test"...guess the size difference, as Coon Duke points out exists...escape their Eagle eyes...)
Test METHODS.... its what TRAPPERS have been saying from the getgo-
Its all your shiny agencys, including your beloved vets- that said NO...
