Does this mean any foothold is legal as long as it is a drowning set-up?

So- with zero knowledge of the muskrat BMPs here in the states I have a question- are you telling me Mike that various traps were tested for rats- in NON drowning situations?

In fact, that the entire tests were based on non drowning situations (or killer traps)?

If so-

What were they thinking!!!!

One thing I know Steve is that they made a survey couple years ago and they found out that the BIG muskrat trappers are still using a lot of foothold traps for muskrat.

+ most most big muskrat trappers owned a large # of traps and in so various models etc... Stop loss #1-#1½, coils from #1 to #2, long springs, jump etc.....

So they concluded that way and I'm proud of it...LoL
At least on that decision. ;D

Sample size was small and yes they were restraining these 'rats for live capture to test footholds. And you should know by now.....I DON"T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE THINKING!!!! lol

Stef, I didn't see Duke traps on you 330 list...were they tested? And exactly what does a "Rudy" bodygripper look like?

I really don't know about the Duke Mike

Rudy traps looked more like an original conibear and some LDL, I don't know them much.
Trappers are saying that their #120 is very powerful.

But I know the guy who makes them. They have a trapping supplies business, their name is LOYS Équipements de Piégeage.

If you go on my Website they are on my dealers list and they have an email address. If you email them maybe you could get a picture or two of their traps.

Stef, What is a Species-specific 440? I know that, that company want out of business, does that mean that you wont be able to use them after 07?

No Woody.

Look, the way it works is that if you look on the list the old Woodstream #330 for example meet the standard for beaver and even if you use 1985 Woodstream #330s... after 2007, you will be able to use them.

The "Certification tag" means that... from 2007 all traps who will be sold in "commercial trapping stores etc..." will need to have these tags.

In other words, all trap companies will have to pay like a "License" to be able to sell their traps "approved" in Canada.

Thanks Stef, it doesn't sound like a good plan for the trap industry I own 6 of them SS #330's and love them I hope to find more when I have the dough to buy them.
