Nice photos joel. I really like the terrain out there. I have been in those hills and desert areas many times on my trips to vegas. Most go there to lose their money and get to sample the legal scenery. I go to the desert and look for cat and fox sign. I do hope they open up to non residents before I am too old to enjoy it and crawl up and down those rocks.

Ditto Bob, Just one of those beautiful cats for me! That or if I could ever go to Idaho, I am just afraid I would get the "Kitty Fever".

Bruisers, Joel. Your grandkid must be having a ball.
Looks like Pyramid country.
If the kitties don't bite, maybe the fish will.
I have a hunch you will smiling again after the fur sale.

hey joel, can you do me a favor. post that first cat pic in the "for sale" column on taxidermy net forum, under my cats for sale thread. some jerks are saying their flat as pancake south texas cats have fur. I`d like these taxisddermists that say they`d never pay over $100 for a cat to see why all they get is junk crap. anyone can post, no need to register.

Very nice, those are the furriest cats that I have ever seen. I see a future trapper in the making....
Bob is right. Our cats look very different, and their fur isn't worth very much at all. I would discourage anyone from coming to TX to trap.

You need to catch smaller cats and then that grandson would be a little more help.
A couple real diamonds for sure.

Well lots of questions to answer.
Kyle he's five years old, his mother was a little questionable about letting him go because she knows I get out in the boonies but she wanted to volunteer at his sisters school so the only choice was to let him go if she wanted to do that.
John they aren't the biggest cats in this country, I've caught two that were significantly bigger than the first pic. this year. I'd guess he weighed 30 pounds or so. I stretched him wide and he measures 44 inches.
Bob you seriously want me to post on a taxidermy thread? Those cats are skinned and stretched already. I guess if you wanted to make a point I could do it.
Jeff the little bugger is feeling his oats, I thought I'd wear him out but yesterday he was sprinting up the hill saying hurry up grandpa. He was trying to get to the trap first so I told him is was by the rock on top. I could see he was looking at a rock higher up so I let him go for it then I veered over to where the set was lower down and told him I'd race him. He knew he'd been suckered. ha ha!! Old age and treachery wins out, for a while at least.
MT those are genuine Cabela's whipcord wool pants not lederhosen. lol!! I do look like a fashion maven in that getup don't I? I tucked them in because lots of standing water and mud around right now.
Joel
