I've always looked at the other guys with their kids pics and been envious.
I had two girls, one no interest in animals, the other was co-opted by my wife into 4H and FFA and such. Now she works for a vet and is a dang dog lover. I took her deer hunting once and it was "don't shoot, it's to cute" so I turned around and took her home. lol!!
This is my first experience taking a boy trapping, it's shoot him Grandpa!!
Completely different experience.

Awesome. Good for you. I try to remain grateful for my boy when he shoots 497 out of a brick of 500 .22 shells and leaves me three to run a 80 trap line. Or takes my digger and leaves it in the yard and I discover the fact 30 miles away on the line. Other than that, trapping really is kinda dull without him.

Yeah I kept thinking that he would wear out, I'm not sure it wasn't me that wore out more. lol!!
His favorite part was when I was crossing the creek by stepping on rocks and the last rock rolled me into the water, on the way back we went another way and I fell through the ice and he didn't.
What a belly laugh!!

You probably wouldn't have fallen in the water if you had glasses that were as cool as his . . .

Great pics!!! Know what you mean about having girls and them not into the hunting and trapping scene. Have 3 girls. That area is really different, lava flows? Good luck and good luck to grand son.

Hey, stanley, what ever gave you the idea Joel has a youthful soul. He's older than Moses and never figured he'd have a grandson, let alone be able to show him the best part of life. Cranky old fart shoud just stick to being a cranky old fart. Joel always told me his mean little boys were going to knock up my cute little girls. Scared me so bad, I haven't got girls or grand girls. :-))
Joel,
Glad you had a good time and many more. " Shoot him, grandpa". Probably the best words you ever heard.
Bill
