The first picture is moving and the second is parked to check some sets. I've got a little video that I'll try to figure out how to post later.

whenever I see "real" sled dogs- I always smile at the way us non users think "huskies" should look.

Musher, Is the front right and back right dogs labs? That looks like a blast, but I also bet hard work. Awesome pics!

In the pic there are 2 chessies. The second two dogs are pure siberians. The rest are alaskans. The black one in the back has malamute in it. The rest are racers.

dog sleding would be great , at least the tought of it , but then i remember that you would have to feed those 8 dogs all year . I think i would be a snow machine kind of guy. lol

If I only had 8 to feed! That isn't even half my pack.

Bryan, Do you find mixed teams satisfactory for your use, or would you prefer a team of all ALaskans?

Wayne: I'm not sure yet. I used to go with BIG. I had a malmute that I bred with an alaskan husky (siberian/german shepard cross) that gave good pups. Then I got a few siberians which also did well. When my son wanted to enter a race or two I got a couple of racing alaskans.
What I learned: racing alaskans eat 2-3 times as much as a siberian. They also drink way more. A malmute doesn't eat more. It eats less. Alaskans can be real quick but can burn out. Siberians aren't as quick but they recoup real quick.
This summer I got a couple of racing siberians. So far they are good. I also got an alaskan racer bitch that was hooked on Jeff King's sled when he won a race in Wisconsin.
Now I have to decide what to breed to what!
