Goodness, look at the size of that paw in the 4th picture with your glove on the cat. You grow some big kitties out there. Great catch indeed !

Nice, it looks as if you are in the middle of nowhere yet there is a crushed can there. Damn slobs that mess up the landscape. I guess it didn't matter to the cat. Keep em coming.

That isn't that big of a cat, probably a 2 year old, the shed horn had pretty good mass. Thing about a white horn is cat can see it from across the canyon.
I caught the one with the can right next to a old corral, the cowboys must have a beer on the roundup.
Bill, yeah those are the ITP mudlites, I went up an inch on the rims and an inch on the tires.
If I had it to do over again I'd probably go another inch or two. That extra inch is sure nice in this petrified watermelon patch around here.

Look at the picture with the deer antler, you'll see the pan of the trap on the walkthrough set.

Two with lure, the blue back in the third pic was blind with no lure. It was a place where a side trail went through the high brush, I was hoping not to give a bird dog any reason to go over there.
The one on the rock likely would have been caught with no lure.
The one by the beer can drank the beer after it was lured in.

Nice job Joel! Those pictures are killing me. I need to get out there. I just booked a huge account at the World Market Center here in Las Vegas and that has been taking up all my time. I don't think I will be able to run that big of a line this year. Nice to see you starting off good.

Great picture's Joel, glad to see you out and at 'em.
I've got awhile to wait before I am going to hit the cats, I sure hope gas drops a little by then.

what? no coyotes? LOL
do you have kit fox by you?

Post by mostinterestingmanintheworld on Nov 23, 2007 11:51:27 GMT -6
Yeah we've got kits, I miss most of them because of pan tension.
They are the most flea infested animal on the planet and paper thin skins are hard to handle.
There isn't really another animal around here that I want to catch besides cats except grey fox and there aren't any where I'm trapping right now.

NICE Joel..and WELL said... I generally always use lure/urine at every set..at least to start with...MAYBE it's not needed..but if it picks up ONE extra cat a season... and it SURE isnt going to shy em.. HOPEFULLY will shy the coyotes tho!!! HATE a 30 dog in a 300 cat set!!! NICE wheeler...is that the wife's "sissy bar" back rest/?? lynx

Nope that's a big old plastic box I got from Sportsmans Warehouse. Cost $275 but it's a dandy!!
Notice the windshield? That's the best thing I've ever put on a 4 wheeler. That cold asss wind goes right up and hits you in the forehead instead of the chest. lol!!
I can hunker down a bit and keep the wind off, really makes a difference!!
