I had a little wolf action in the footholds today. She didn't want to look at the camera. It was getting dark so here's another pic after she was "pacified." Another I caught about 20 km. away. I think it's a different pack. It was on a slider that it ripped up pretty good. There was no time for a "live"pic. Typical home shot. Crappy pictures but you get the gist. Running out of light didn't help. It was a "shoot the wolf, leave it there, and run the other sets in case there are more wolves" situation. There are some snares I didn't do. Tomorrow might be interesting.

Soft catch traps are starting to impress me. A double pogo is pretty good, too. But who knows if they would have been there in the morning? The slider wolf was going to get away. The end wired to a tree was busted off and the stake was getting loose. It was swinging pretty wild.
The sets were a scent post and a wobble (rebar) hole. Yes, cachottier was in the wobble hole.
We (wifey and I) saw 2 moose on the way out, too. All told it was an exciting end to the day.

I have skinned a few Coyotes & but I'd dare say these critters would be a royal pain to skin due to their size.

Steve; I sell to a pedlar that makes rugs with them. The colour is good on both of them and the female has a nice mane. Skinned and frozen pelt should go for about 125-150 Canuck bucks.
Jeff: I caught another coon. Big 'un. They are messing up my marten boxes! I'll post a few weasel pictures on another thread.
