I got the first wolf of the year in a blind set snare I put in on Tuesday. A young female. She got chewed by the rest of the pack. I'll see how much once she's skinned out. We also picked up a couple of fox. We arrived at one set to find 8 people around one. One guy waved us down saying (in French obviously) that there was a fox in a trap, as he got his gun. They all had guns. And they were all young. And if we would have been five minutes later something might have happened. We also got a few marten. This one was killed so quickly that the trap barely moved. I had another one, alive, in the same type of trap. Both were perfect catches. We also got a raccoon. I figure that Stef is importing them. Some rabbits thought that they were invisible. They weren't to young eyes! He also got a couple of grouse. Weasels, otter, beaver and other stuff harvested, too. Good day.

I forgot to add that there's one lucky grouse hunting fool aropund my line. I had made a big hole set for wolf guarded with a jake. Lucky boy cleaned his grouse, through the debris on and around my set, and then stuffed the plastic bag inside the hole! if his knuckles would have touch the earth he was "jaked." Guy doesn't have a clue that a trap was even there.
I pulled the set.

Pretty neat Do you have better luck with the marten boxes In the horizontal position versus the vertical position? We always used them In the vertical position.

good job musher.
This opening week has been bizarre here, getting 'interference' from hunters, other trappers, so result much slower than expected. might try to post some pics later on, but for now, gotta work a few hours so I can run traps for the next 5 days!

you guys want severe interference, try trapping opening week where i live. thousands of hunters and even more deer hounds. dont even fool with it anymore. would still be bad with just the hunters but hard to hide sets from the noses of hounds and beagles. saturday was opener for muzzleloader and sounded like a war zone, lol!
