Yeah and not real well. Three toes below pad catch.
Pretty rare that I get them that way but two big toms in two days.
Probably haven't had two below the pad in two years.

Very nice cat...good looking location. I've noticed you Nevada guys catch alot of cats right down in the sage brush...I use to set closer to the rock piles but the last couple years I've had good results by the edge of the sage. Do you think its the rock outcropings that attract the cats or the thicker sage? This winter I've seen alot of cats wondering around out in the open with very little cover...sure wish my wife would of bought her some cat tags Awesome pics, keep them coming

I think they like the thick brush as much as the rocks.
They'll line out through the short brush when they want to go somehwhere.

Nice cat, and good looking country. You must be a big shot real estate developer. Nice sun glasses. ;D

Looks just like a Ca. cat only bigger and furrier. If I could just get your $ averages.

Joel,
That cat has a gorgeous belly! And the snow doesn't look too deep! LOL

Nice one Joel. We are getting more XXLG ones this year than usual, but none have a belly like the one you got there. Congrats John

Nice. In that last pic it almost looks like you have the ocean behind you. Malibu styling!

The background is what is called a playa.
The Great Basin which includes NV, Western Utah, So. Oregon and Idaho and Eastern California doesn't drain water into the ocean.
So all the water runs to the bottom of the valley and evaporates.
Leaves a big alkali flat.
Not far from the burning man festival.

Sounds like your in my wife's relatives back yard. Ever run into the Jacksons? Hear Mike M. has been out there some but don't know if he has been trapping any. Hard to imagine he's not killen cats. If he's not, it will sure give you a lot more to chose from. After looking at the pic again, I think I know where your set is. (close anyway) John

I know the Jackson's John. I've been to their place with Mike a few times.
This cat is over on the Smoke Creek side so it's aways from their place.

Never been to Smoke Creek but my wife knows it well. Her mom was raised there.
