USSA is proving itself an ally to all sportsmen. An organization that does, not just talks. Don't know that any organization has it all, but I've been pleased with the FTA and NRA (though the NRA's constant pandering for funds annoys me) as well.

USSA is a TOP SHELF organization for all sportsmen. If you take the time and money to belong to the other organizations you listed, I would spend the extra $25 and join USSA. They cover the whole country. They have lawyers and probably more national connections and clout than most trapping organizations out there. They are heavily involved in the MN and ME lawsuits going on right now. Happy trapping. ScottW

I think years ago, USSA was called WLFA- Wildlife Legislative Funds of America.

the USSA is that rare organisation that is a co olition of sportmans groups that actually represents all members equally. Thus, in trapping issues nationally, we have support far in excess of our numbers.
The FTA recognises this, and is a full supporter and donator to USSA.
Right now- the FTA and the USSA are the only two national organisations that actually use donated money to help sportsmen and trappers.
ALL monies raised in the auctions will go directly to FTA and they will get it to the USSA for direct battles- right now the 2 lawsuits in MN and ME.

Doesn't the NTA use the members Donated money to fight anti's? USSA.... Been a member for 3 years and proud of what they have documented/done for us in that time..... One of the best moves made by one of the 2 National Trapping organizations that you can belong to is that they saw the benefit of allieing with like minded groups with big money, excellent connections and a large membership base. The group that fits that mold is the USSA.....(the group that had this vision and are seeing the benefits on this relationship is the FTA) Belong to both if you can or if money is tight support the FTA, which inturn allies with the USSA (when needed) and is money in the bank)

It was the WLFA B4 it was the USSA from the best of my memory. I was a member of the former and went through the transition. It is somewhat of a calming feeling knowing you are linked to an organization that has some long reaches politically, economically and because they align several passionate consumptive user groups the USSA can quickly surmise what the internal climates are on an issue and work to minimize these conflicts and keep the eye on the ball if you will.
