Its been brought up several times, that CRU should hold a fundraiser for the FTA. The FTA is the only national organization that is run BY trappers, FOR trappers, and I'm proud to be a member of the FTA.
Its time a fundraiser was held to benefit the FTA and to thank them for staying the course.
I'd like some realistic ideas on what and how we could hold such a fundraiser.
Suggestions welcome!

Auctions/Raffles both work well. I'd be willing to donate some prizes - just let me know.

Not really a fund raiser but how about a membership recruit contest. Whoever gets the most references from new members wins something. (maybe too much to keep track of) New members get their name thrown into a hat and winner/s picked at rondy. Strength in numbers. Cmon brainstormers.

We could do a 50/50 raffle, they are easy to keep track of.

well our state association holds a yearly sweepstakes. tickets are shipped in the mail to all members. there is a members only drawing this is where every member gets one ticket in the mail and it is a different color no cost to the member. the member only winner gets a 100.00 shooping spree and any supply vendor of his choice. next is the sweepstakes ticket book 2.00 per ticket, 6 tickets for 10.00 and 15 for 20.00. i belive that several supply dealers in the state donate shopping sprees in dollar amounts of: first prize 600.00 shopping spree at X supply dealer second prize 400.00 shpping spree an y supply dealer third prize 200.00 shopping spree at z supply dealer forth and fith prize 100.00
this is what our state association does and it might be somthing to look into

Reading through the replys to this thread two things come to mind.
1) simplicity....Djs idea of a 50-50 raffle
2) Memberships. I'd donate towards purchasing any kid on this forum a "Youth " membership in the FTA.

Thats a great idea Robert, if each of us sponsored a youth membership, just think of the good it would do, for trapping, and the FTA.. Good idea!!!

Personally, I do not like giving away memberships- very rarely does that person renew. At the small cost of a membership really to ANY trapping organisation- money is seldom the issue.

If we decide to do a 50/50 drawing or a membership give away, or any other fund raising ideas what better place to do it than the FTA convention and why not at the cookout, we can make this a really big get together and raise a lot of funds for the FTA. We can do this every year and it will only get bigger and better. Seems like a good way to start the CRU fund raising effort for the FTA.....B.....
