Joel, how is the fur quality/market value of the desert cats vis a' vis the higher elevation cats?

Gunny, where I'm standing is about 5000 foot elevation.
These desert cats are a lot smaller than the ones I catch up North.
They all look the same color wise. Kind of a buff color with and orange tinge. Good bellies.

Joel...I had a couple questions if you don't mind...I don't know much about Nevada, the wife and I went out to vegas for a couple days a few years ago...anyway when we flew in the country I could see on the outskirts of Vegas looked like good cat country, is it?? I'm not planning on trapping there or anything, just a question that i've often wondered about......whats the difference in the quality of the cats in Nevada...or are all the cats about the same from north to south, I see you said the southern cats are smaller, but is the quality of the fur, and the belly's as good as the northern cats?? It sure looks like some nice DRY country to trap...great pictures, thanks for sharing them, and thanks for answering my questions. Core

Corey,
There is some great country around Vegas.
The Southern desert (Mojave) has booms and busts tied to water.
The Mojave cats don't bring as much as the basin and range cats from further North but still have value.

Thanks Joel...i'm probably a lot like you, go to those different place's in the country, and wonder about what they have to offer trapping wise....when i've lion hunted in Utah i've seen some awesome place's to trap cats, it would be fun to trap out there also, cept for the 6 cat limit....anyway thanks for the answers Joel...I appreciate them.
