what are your thoughts on this trap for farmland fox (dogs, house cats, coons, coyotes as incidentals)
I know it's a bit BIG, but does the padding help with the others listed?
RE: treating these traps...how do the rubber pads affect trap cleaning, dyeing, waxing, etc.?
Thanks.

I think that its a bit oversized for the smaller animals.
Yes you can catch foxes etc,,, in the Jake but I believe that you'll get a lot of high catches with it and most of the time, its just not good business even if the trap is a padded one.
A Jake trap is a coyote and cat trap 1st.

Good question. I know Z uses some Jake traps- perhaps others?
I wanted to pick some up last year at the convention from JC, but ....hey, things happen, I forgot!
This year for sure I want to try a couple.

I think he IS working on a 1.5 sized trap...sounds like it may be JUST the ticket for what I need. Hope it's released SOON!
looking for advice on use of and care for the rubber-jawed traps...
Thanks.

I got to see the prototype for j.c.'s new trap the other day. 5 1/2 inch jaw spread. Those that like a little smaller trap will like it. He is also working on a bigger trap. Haven't had a chance to see that one yet. Nice forum Steve.
