I daydreamed as I drove home...We did set 12 out today...3 at one location, 2 at 4 locations and 1 with 1. used maybe 4-5 old sets, including a cutbank that had a lot of tracks on it. All locations had tracks,,,but with a trace of snow 5-6 days ago, its hard to tell whats what...but at least canines- both yotes and reds...are visiting. Had 1 location I didn't set where a dead calf was put out in mid Oct...untouched and nary a track... Used a lot of skunky stuff, a fair bit of bait. So for next 9 days at least, will be checking a few canine sets along with water. Frost was down about 10-12 inches. Good news/bad news..warmup..rising temps tonight...30 at midnight, then getting warmer... we are RIGHT on line of freezing rain/rain....or none. I vote...none! in 30srest of week, but after sat, stable temps under freezing. This could be a nice little run....coon, canines, mink...everything should be out. Have to admit...I sleep a little lighter with coyote sets in the ground...

4 days off and decent weather, I will be setting up several farms tomorrow, I was going to try to do both, water and land, but have just decided, the next 4 days are going to be hell on the fox and yotes, we will see what happens after that.

I will be doing the same exact thing....got a break in the weather, so going for one last, end of the season, part-time push to get a few more in the truck.... Will be setting on New Year's Eve.......my wedding anniversary. ....the wife ain't thrilled.....she says I am a better coyote trapper than husband. Her favorite line: "Mark treats his farmers better than he treats me". With 15 sets or so around the area over the next week, hope to take some new customers in areas I had already trapped. Seems to be plenty of sign around, like I hadn't even trapped there earlier. Zagman

Yep,the only smart thing that involves my wife that I ever did was get married in September. It used to really tick me off when my freinds got married in November and couldn't understand why I wasn't there.
