Killing 100 was easier than I thought. Was actually prepared and geared to kill 200. No incentive to do so!

Way to go Nick- yes, its hard to have incentive with prices almost if not below production costs. I'm not even going to water trap, except for a small beaver problem on one of my farms where he does me lots of favors, so I'll get his beaver.
You still go after canines?

It was 55 females and 53 males.
Usually run 2/3 males and 1/3 females.

I am surprised I thought it would be 2/3 males also. I have caught over 100 before and it was 2/3 males then.

I always found that the number of males increase if one of 2 circumstances is present (or both): 1) snow & ice 2) later in the season. Both increase the travelling range of the males.

I'll tell you that's an impressive catch!
Like mentioned above, the price of production and the cost. With our wet weather here, rivers up and down, this fall and winter. There's no way that you'd even come close to breaking even.
A friend of mine told me once, it'd be possible to catch 100 mink in this area, he never did, and I've never came close. But let me ask, what state are you trapping, and how many miles did you cover. With our 24 hour check law, that would be very difficult! Sure would be fun!

well done Nick or should I say not QUITE DONE!! I trust the long mink line was able to keep your mind off the corn and bean price issues commodity producers are facing. I don't know how your water level issues fluctuated where you trap but here my whole river line never got setup as we were over the banks most of the summer and fall.
