Anyone have a sure fire tactics to gain permission? I use business cards with my information on it and also mention other local farmers names that I trap which helps sometimes. Just curious what other people do to gain access.

I do the same. Business card, and name drop.
I find it very much helps, to say "I've been trapping coyotes at X's place, and wondered if I could trap your place as well?"
I also find it helps to give dates- I'll be here on the 20th, until the 27th for example- and tell them generally where I'll be setting.
I've never found shopper or newspaper ads to get me any permissions. (except gopher work)
The biggest aid to me, is the years- many farmers I don't know, know of me. So the door is many times already open for me.
and this sounds silly- but it's easier to get permissions when farmers see, or are aware of coyotes- thus, choose farms where you "know" coyotes are regular (and to me, that means cows or pigs)- many times, I get "can you start today- saw two by the barn last night" type of thing.
I also have the bonus of gopher trapping, and when they see me on their land all summer, its easy to ask for coyote permissions
