The Obama admin has waged war on coal fired power plants will cost jobs and make power more expensive. Why would we want to hamper a cheap form of power that is far better with emissions than years ago? Clean coal is better than old coal and a coal plant is still a great value for kilowatts produced.

I guess one needs to weigh out cost versus effect and also do we have an alternative in place to makeup for the power generated and cost to generate it that is comparable? If not why set a date already? Energy cost area big portion of the avg workers pocket book food and energy are the main stays and when they rise much faster than does pay you end up with less expendable money and a slower economy.

You'd think that a life without electricity would be embraced wholeheartedly by contemporary conservatives.............
We can certainly blame electricity for many of the ills that conservatives claim have befallen society.
The Amish get along without it, why can't you ?

FWS your silly, How many jobs would be gone without electricity ? good grief. The Amish make some fine furniture but your going to wait months before they get yours done by hand and the cost is much higher.

Mitt Romney uses the rules and regs the govt has put into place and to cut his taxes and also to get away from all the EPA guidelines we have in place a in turn saving money and headaches? But Mitt has his home here. Who have we been borrowing money from to keep adding to,our national debt? I have been saying for years this admin should be more worried about job growth versus coal, healthcare and extending unemployment benefits over and over again and living on borrowed money to the extent we have been. if job growth means cutting those loop holes for Mitt then so be it,but kind of tough when the people we do not like taking our jobs away are the same people we borrow trillions of dollars from hey?

In reality if we need to create 100K new jobs per month to just put into the workforce the new workers and not those that are long term unemployed then if we put pressure on the coal using sector and or mining sector how many jobs would be lost? Do we know and what part of the 6million would that be over the next 5 years to put the new workers into the workforce. With the Boomers being about the same size in numbers as the milenials then we should be able to hire millions as the boomers retire, unless we as a nation chooses to continue downsizing our labor force as a percent of the total population.
