It matters little to me if the best or worst school to play is Catholic or Evangelical or Agnostic, the current BCS system is very corrupt in my opinion. We have over a dozen schools allowed to play full seasons yet their activities are considered very egregious etc. Why let them play at all for a year or two. Maybe that would shape up the teams and boosters a bit more than just hoping one does not get caught and if you do you can go undefeated, make money but not play in a bowl game. It is like white collar crime if you get caught we will pay your salary and if bad enough large separation fees to leave but we won't allow you to get a bonus what a scam.

The BCS is as bad as 'The Chase' in NASCAR. That's why I quit going to races and enjoying the sport. I don't even care anymore.

Of course it is corupt!!!! Has been for a long, long time. Tons of money at stake for ALL involved but given the guidlines ND will get to play as an independant for the national championship and we shall see the SEC add yet another team into the mix. The SEC is the strongest conferance in football. Has been for many years.

Who cares who is the strongest conference in football or any other sport for that matter. The USA spends more per ca pita on collegiate and professional sports than any nation in the world, something over 1600 per person per year. That is probably more than the average family spends on food in 4 months! No wonder it is corrupt and getting worse. The fact that these strongest show up does not make the system any good. Collegiate and professional sports are probably two of the most publicly subsidized economic activities in the country and they have the blessing of most who dislike government, regulation and the curtailment of a free economy. It is no wonder our society gets what we have those that dislike our handouts thrive on them yet deny their value or usage.

If you keep thinking like that is it any wonder we create little real wealth in this nation. We just shuffle other people's money around and use a lot of tax payer funds to do that also; but if you consider sports as a wealth bu idling activity for our economic growth for the future then you are right where millions want you to be.

Bryce billions are spent every year on sports and sports related items. Sports add wealth to a degree but they also bring enjoyment to millions of fans.
ASK CBS, Fox and NBC,ESPN where they might be if not for sports?

Real wealth is only created in mining, agriculture, forestry, manufacturing by adding value to raw materials. Sure the sports creates dollars but it is dollars taken from something else not by increased value of products created nor is there any value in lowering our trade deficit or currency exchange etc. It does not mean I don't like sports or what sports can do but when they become as large of a part of an economy that has little real growth they don't add much long term wealth addition to our economy. Nor do they really create much full time real value middle income jobs. They magnify the type of economy we have today, very, very few on the upper end with most of the dollars and part time help with zip for bennies on the bottom end.
