Just had trouble with my Kenmore Elite Ultra Turbo Zone dishwasher, all stainless steel model, $1149 at Sears (or $40 for a barely used one at the H for H Restore where I bought this one).
It had stopped mid cycle, with the green light on 'clean' blinking, which as I found out is a diagnostic code, 6 blinks, pause......... It meant there was an issue with heated dry element, and to reset the system required pushing 'heated dry', 'normal', 'heated dry', 'normal' in that order in under 6 seconds.
Did that and all the lights came on and the system reset, and after 4 loads of pots, pans, dishes, and canning jars, it works flawlessly again.
Took about 10 minutes to find the factory diagnostics info online.
In the pre-internet days it would have been a real pain to find this info on diagnostics.
Ya' gotta love the internet for the information that is freely available and for sources for about any part you'd ever need.
I'm starting a rebuild of a 4.9 L Ford straight 6 engine for my F-150 4wd, in fact I'm rebuilding the truck for extended range hunting trips. RockAuto is a fantastic source for parts, no sales tax and cheap shipping. And I can sort through the manufacturers and find the 'Made in USA' good stuff. The price differential between them and parts stores is shocking.
Building guns, repairing ATVs or outboards, getting exact factory wiring diagrams and service manuals, pretty much whatever you're trying to do you can find it. Including YouTube tutorials on a lot of it.
