Thinking of cutting my Rem. 700 Fireball barrel down. Has a 24" now, will it burn all the powder in 20"? Surely the shoot that cal. out of a contender. Thoughts?

I don't think you will have a powder burning issue, what 18-20 grains of pwoder? just a slower FPS due to the shorter barrel.
Make sure to have it recrowned.

I think you will be just fine. I had both a 20 and a 18" Mach IV that I hunted coyotes, cats and fox without problems.

Using the same factory load? Yes, it WILL burn all the powder but some of it will burn beyond the muzzle. Maybe? Hard to say, but performance will degrade.
If you handload, you can select a slightly faster powder that burns more efficiently in a 20" barrel. You might want to check with people that shoot a XP100, or a Wichita, and find out what they are using in shorter barrels.
And, (just curious) what's the reason for wanting a shorter barrel?

lb,
Just a truck rifle, Toyotas and longer barrels just dont go hand in hand. Thanks for the comments guys, I will trade velocity for a shorter barrel. Brent, talked to another guy today that said the same thing about the Machs. Handloaded, without looking somewhere around 17 grains, H322 I believe.
