I got a FN made Model 70 Featherweight 22-250 last winter and it has been giving me fits. Shoots VERY poorly with factory loads (probably averaged a 3" group). I wasted a bunch of cash looking for a factory load this gun would shoot. Started load development this week with a 50 grain Vmax. Here was 35 grains of H4895. Some of the factory loads were this bad. 36 grains of Varget with a Rem primer was just as terrible. 36 grains of Varget with a WLR primer was bad too. Then I shot this group with 34 grains of Varget, WLR primer, WIN brass, and a 50 vmax. I was glad I found something that worked because this is a great handling, well put together rifle. And gorgeous to boot...

Just find the right load and you can turn 3" groups into ½" groups. Lucky you!

I was going to recommend Varget an excellent powder for sure.

I could never get acceptable accuracy with 50 gr. v-max in my 22-250.

I started with that bullet because the Remington Accutip ammo was the only factory ammo that shot well in this gun. I am pretty certain that the Accutip bullet is a 50 Vmax with a gold tip instead of red.
