What do you look for when making a stand selection for calling coyotes?
sun location, wind, entry into the stand and visability etc. Let's hear some thoughts and past experiances good or bad we all learn from mistakes! I sure have!

Unobserved and quiet entry is a must. Lots of guys dont realize that they are busted before they ever put the call to their lips. I like a stand with some elevation for visibility... knob or hay stacks. Much prefer to lay prone but if sitting want a back rest. Shooting sticks are far more stable when you're braced against a backrest. Also better for concealment. Wind is a no brainier... and I refuse to use a stand that has me facing the sun, unless there is absolutely no other option. Dont use any scent covers and not into fancy camo. A simple army surplus camo shirt is all I wear. Keeping movement to a minimum is the key.

thanks chris! I agree undected entry is a big key and can make things happen much quicker as well. I liked to get up the back side of buttes that offered a longer range of view and work around the sides if need be, low profile and no silouetting for sure.
Anyone else?
