Which brand of .22 mag rifle is a tacker?
Are there any reasonably accurate non-bolt actions out there?

Believe it or not my Henry is one of the most accurate rifles I have ever owned, and I have owned quite a few.

CZ and Magnum research make semi auto 22 mags. But would agree a Henry is one fine gun in a lever action for sure!

chama you can buy almost 2 brand new Henry's for what a very good win will cost you and that win isn't going to be any more accurate than the Henry just a fact. Your paying alot for that Barrel stamp of yester year.

Yep..That's true a brand new in the box 9422 XTR will run at $1100.00 and up..BUT...I was at a close friend of mine who is a gun smith..He pointed out many flaws in the material that makes a Henry rifle..ie ( pewter casting vrs. steel) ... plastic compounds vrs steel)...he showed me three that needed various work..one was a goldenboy...the other was a h1002 I believe that is there blued model..anyways one may pay alot for the barrell stamp..BUT..It is a winchester model 94 that EVERY lever action is modeled after..and that's a fact ;D..Adios

I wouldn't discount an Anschutz if you're looking for accuracy in a bolt action. Way too high priced when new but very good used rifles can be found at a fair price. Mine is scary accurate.

I thought the same of the plastic and casting vs steel after owning one you couldnt pry if from my hands. And the coons aint complaining none !! If I want a collector or wall hanger I will go for the Winchester for a brush busting hunting gun that will get a few dings I will take the lowly henry.

I have both a Ruger 96/22M and CZ512 22mag and found them to be accurate rifles. My son uses the the Ruger when we're coon den calling.

sorry chama I'm not taking a 1,000+ 22 out hunting. It will get abused and for that purpose the henry does just fine. One of the best selling lever actions out there today. You can find flaws in many guns but for hunting it is a no brainor.
As mentioned there are wall guns and hunting guns and in a 22 cal, a winchester due to price point is a wall gun IMO. Heck I'm happy with my 23 year old 10/22 with a plastic cased magazine has been through heck and back and still works like when it was new paid 169.00 at wal mart! Feed it stingers or mini mags and it has done in a pile of coons, rabitts and squirrels.

the winchester line has been relagated mostly to collector type firearms and plus beings there in with browning which I'm no fan of more reason for me NOT to spend any money with them.

It doesn't really matter. Just so that it tacks.
I've heard lots of good things about the Savage. But some people say that you eithe love the trigger or hate it. The price is certainly attractive.
Are they accurate enough to consistently pop a ground hogs head at 300 feet?

yes without a doubt!!!! I love the accu trigger takes some getting use to but is very nice and very accurate, their barrels I have found to be far superior to other factory guns for sure!

AND NEVER NEVER think that a CZ won't do that. All the CZ's I have and have shot are absolute tackdrivers.

I have a Ruger Model 96 lever action and absolutely love it. I never leave home without it. Coyotes, coon calling, beaver night shooting, ATV gun, workin brushed coyotes under the plane.... You name it, it does it. They are currently out of production but if you can find one you will not be sorry. I wish Id bought several of them.
