I am having good luck but wondered if you veterans could help. I am having different results what do you consider the to be a good distance from your first set up ? I find a number of spots with good den trees but they are with in 50 - 60 yards from each other.
Thanks

IS THERE FRESH SIGN ? SET IT. After you get the bulk pull and move...IT is NOT uncommon for me to have 8-10 coon sets in 100 yards if sign there. How dense is your population?

you can call each den tree but depending on call and volume you should get results from various den trees within 60 yrds of one another from the same stand.

This is what I have heard, from others that have coon populations. Use coon fight. They come fast and lose interest just as fast. I have no opinion whatsoever on spacing out your stands, but if the trees are as close as you say, you might want to come back on subsequent days because I think they all are going to hear your sound and they aren't entirely stupid. Ok that brings up another ? whats your thoughts on calling the same tree more than once in a season ? In the past I have tried to avoid this.

You bet you can call the same tree. Use a different call.

RiverRat, I called a den one day and had a coon poke its head out but never came all out. Went back a week later and called the same tree and had one come out. Don't know if it was the same coon or not.
Does anyone use a decoy when calling coon and if so, does it help for the lookers?
