I had a wolf pull out of a grappled, Sterling 600. A spring was popped but I was able to slip it back in place. It is the first time I have connected with a sterling. The wolf put out a good tussle but I don't think it was there that long. It hit the end of the chain, swung a few times , wrapped up tight in the brush, and pulled out. I think that chewing is what popped the pin. That's trapping.

So now, Do you think the Sterling should stay as a coyote trap? Where are your CDRs? Stef

It was a wolf/fox area. The set was a remake of where I caught a fox last Saturday. (The remake had your test bait so I guess wolves like it!)
A CDR is a BIG trap. It would be rough on a fox. The sterling isn't too bad. But yes, my confidence in the sterling for wolves has taken a huge hit.
