saw a guy that lives in Kadoka- really light up a family group with a "cold call" location out in the badlands just by using his hands and mouth.
stopped out in the middle of nowhere, said he wanted to locate these coyotes, and in a few minutes, they were!
impressed the HELL out of me-
anyone else do this?

yes I learned voice howling from the same guy you speak of LOL. He also makes an impressive rabbitt blues with his mouth as well, but damn hard on the vocal cords.
The voice howl can reproduce the sound of a coyote as well as anything and in many case some better, acoustics play a big part in it all. I was down in Ark 2 summers ago with the wife on a vacation buffalo river area and we stayed in a log cabin on a hill plenty of tent campers 3/4 mile below us in the tress along the river, right at sundown I went out on the deck and voice howled and had the entire river bottom light up, I always wondered what those tent campers thought of all that LOL. My wife was sure impressed. LOL.

Yeah, I know the same guy. I have tried to do what he does, and I suck. I had the pleasure of showing him northern Nevada this past Feb. Showed him how to hunt out of a truck at night, too.
