Yep...I was looking at some Ram Power Snares....and in the information section it was noted not to use "Sani-Flush"...to boil power snares ..as this reduces spring strength....I know alot of you use sani-flush for boiling traps with.....is your springs weak?....adios

Same advice with our trap manufacturers here in Québec... ( Belisle, Sauvageau and Rudy )
I don't use lye anyway for my conis... I dip.
For my coilspring traps... I still use lye for cleaning my traps and never had one broken spring and I don't see any coil springs early weakness.

That stuff has acid in it and will etch the metal and lead to cracks and broken springs. It is especially bad on qaulity spring steel. If you have ever bought any old traps that look like new,( longsprings or jumps) no rust, check them out real good and set them a few times and look at the springs . I bought some jumps that had been diped in acid and half the springs was cracked.

I sani flush my boiling pot before use each year to rid it of wax build up and rust. Car wash my traps to rid them of most wax and all blood, dirt, etc...
