Butera mfg I believe with the market the way it is and price making in the US it had to hurt sales big time. AS most want to buy cheap and then complain about foriegn countries taking away our manufacturing sector.

so someone else is running BMI I take it now then? Because prices look resonable for USA made and they look like good quaility! I might have to try some of those zero gap 10" kill traps!

What is the difference between 110 springs versus 120 springs with the exception of cost? Their 120 springs are .40 more.

WOW I didnt have a clue , nobody seems to carry the line. I am dissapointed that they dont have any 220s though Never liked the BMI 220's, I know, I know crazy ...too hard to set, and did too much fur damage on coon IMO but i never liked some other brand 220's as well

I'm pretty sure Rich Butera's sister and brother-n-law own and operate the BMI company. And from what I have heard they are two very different companies.

Never thought of the safety hook. I overlooked the obvious.

I agree with garman springs on the bmi. 220's are way to short making them difficult to set. I own 4 dozen and they are always the last of My 220's that get set.

Have one of those caulkng gun types, works great but no setter is as fast as using Your hands. In fact about the only time I use it is on those BMI'S.

Agreed, if your using crapped out sprung traps. I know guy who set the older style Duke #220s with their hands but I had nothing but catch circles and live critters in them. If I can set the #220s with my hands, they turn into rat traps. The very reason I like the BMI #220s. Strong springs that last a LONG time.
Never tried the caulking gun setter but seems it would take too long. I have settled on the Sleepy Creek (aluminum) setters. Work great for even the #330s.
Nice to see BMI still selling traps. Might have to try some 160s. Hope they are as good as my #220s.

calvin has nothing to do with setter, does too much damage to the coon neck area, also found 160's kill better/quicker. Not a huge duke 220 fan, yes two many catch circles, too many live skunks. but duke 160's love em

Don't know about duke 220's although Ithink their 280 is one of the best bargains out there. The majority of my 220's are victors or bridgers wich set easily by hand and I have no problems with them killing fur. But I'am only trapping Otter with them, perhaps they are not quite as fierce as Your coon.

I have not had an issue with the BMI/s and damage. Not saying someone else doesn't however.
I understand the Duke #220s have changed to stronger springs. Good for them. With out new #220 law I have been setting more #160s and wish I would have bought more of them instead of the #220s years ago. I suspect this type of law will spread most everywhere in time. Something to consider when buying new body grips.
