They are all dry . Now what? What is the best way to store them until I sell ? Do I need to trim all the little tail bits off where the hooks were? Sell now or wait? NAFA ? Suggestions?

Go catch some more and reload the stretchers. If your rats look good I would send them in for the March sale. If they are early skins (blue) I would sell now. Word I am hearing is there are not really that many good rats being taken and I think the auction sales will be good. I would hold them for awhile and see how the market is. Just my opinion, don't hold me to it.

don't trim nothing-
what I do, is take them 12 at a time, run a string through the left eye (doesn't matter but be consistent, they hang straighter) thne hang them in bundles up in the shed.
you can, if they are "wet" with grease, run a rag over them before hanging.
sell or wait?
up to you- I'll sell several times- I prefer spreading my "eggs" around a bit

And what have you been selling your eggs for?

And what have you been selling your eggs for? I'm guessing that he's selling them at "average." And since he will continue to sell often at "average" he will have a true "average" price. That may be more or less than the "one shot" price received by others at auction. And he had the chance to say "No, thanks." each time he sold. I'm getting a chance to say "No!" this week. But I'm really hoping to say , "Deal!"

Congrats on the rats!! As for the selling part it probably depends largely on how many you have and if you have a fur dealer near by or not. If you have just a few it may work better to sell locally to a nearby dealer. If you have many you may want to split them up and sell some local and ship some (like mentioned earlier not putting all your eggs in one basket). It may also be a convenance thing, if the NAFA agent stops in your town and you don't have to travel to sell that could be a good way to go. However if the the local buyer is closer that may work better. There are no easy answers when it comes to the sale. However you do it is your preferance and there is no right or wrong so to speak.
