I use a 400lb winch to peel them. I have to wait until they are thawed

what kind of market do you expect for wolves like you have pictured there?

The best market is the taxidermy market for wolves. I try to sell all the best ones at my lodge. Did you notice the blue wolf in the middle laying in the snow? I have seen a picture of one but that is the first blue wolf that I have ever caught. Has any one got any idea of the value of a rare wolf like that?

I Apologize for knowing very little about wolves and wolf biology. I would not have any idea of the value of the blue wolf, sure is a beautiful color. Is it common to have that many color phases within a region or is your trap line considerably larger than I may imagine?

Way to go Paul. A good wolf is one on a stretcher. Jim

I dream of a black one! All I get is black (silver) fox!
I spotted the blue and wondered why you weren't holding that one up. Very unusual.
What I like is seeing the other stuff in the photo. Like the cell phone (I think) on your belt. You get cell phone coverage?!! Or the fact that your fire wood seems to be soft wood. Nice wood shed BTW.
Where's the chessie?

Nice catch Paul,
About the blue color... Do you know why the black ("silverish") wolves are labeled as blue color at auction?

Hi Mussher
The cell phone on my belt is actually a Leatherman Tool. I never leave home without it. It has fixed cabin doors that grizzlies have tore apart, skinned moose, grizzly, made cheese sandwiches and I use the scissors to cut moose tags and trim fingernails. I do not own a cell phone. Maybe someday I'll get one but I am resisting as long as I can.

So we're two without cell phone coverage! I have one in the truck but it doesn't work anywhere on the line or at my house.
Those tools are handy but heavy. Mine is in the bag on the sled.
Now for the important question: Where's the chessie!!

Hi Musher I am sorry to say that Kodi got cancer and passed away about 2 weeks ago. Kodi was a perfect family pet and trapline working dog, he fetched ducks, stood between me and several grizzlies and was a perfect guard dog. Here is a photo of Kodi and I with a grizzly that I shot at 8 paces. When it got past Kodi I had to shoot. Kodi is greatly missed. If any one knows of a good Chesapeak breader with pups or with pups comming soon, please send me the info.

Man that's a cool picture! Times 100. That really sucks, Paul. There are no bad chessies. They aren't popular enough to have been screwed up. I saw an add for a litter that is born. I know breeders. If you are interested pm me. Quebec is far but planes are there for a reason!

Now for the important question: Where's the chessie!! I own one mainly for during fire season. Both of our traplines here in the Okanagan do not have cell service. If I needed my cell phone today it would probably take an hour of searching for where I left it last. Nice pictures Paul, thanx for sharing.
