yep I had a guy knock it out when he came by and saw the trap made the connection, before I could get there. It is reset and ready to go again. They have to fix the dam and the hancock sits and waits for that to take place.

largest and most inconvienient trap to set and haul around, can use a foothold anywhere you set a hancock but can't use a hancock everywhere you use a foothold

Well if you don't know how to catch a beaver In a foot hole or a body grip I guess you have to resort to a Hancock.

Yikes,

You ever price out one of those traps no one could afford one unless they were living off the gov tit.

I don't have one but at some point I//m sure I/ll have to buy one. $200 per beaver is the going rate from a local guy around here (I charge less on a smaller scale). So, 2 beaver and its paid for. There are areas (or city ordinances) that will mandate this type of trap. No live trap...no pay. That trap right there is a money maker in many places...even at $400 a pop.

yep only those that live of the govt tit or can;t use footholds use hancocks LOL. I know the guy who makes them beleive me when I say he sells more to non govt than govt.
They fold up like a suit case and are made of alum frame so not as heavy as the ram ones which weigh in at almost 50 lbs!!!! They are cumbersome but this is 20 ft off a road and are a sure ticket in a dam break, so unless you have experiance with them don't knock they are a quick and easy set unless your packing them into the bush, which that is not where they shine.
Beav they work well that is why I use them. I snare alot of my beaver, conibears and some foot holds if I have to go on a longer walk snares and kill types are my main stays a few foot holds but snares are a great tool as well.
But a well set hancock at a dam break is as sure thing as one can get in alot of cases. Even highly spooked beaver seem to have little problems with them no past negative to them they have never seen one before.
